    Adaptive technologies can be very useful in the classroom. Smart boards are a great way to engage all students in your lessons, even letting those with disabilities participate very easily. There are many tools the smart board comes with that lets disabled children interact with the board so that way they are not being excluded, which could happen if you were using just a regular white board. Smart boards are also beneficial to gifted students to keep them engaged. Audio books are also very useful because it can help students who struggle with ready still be able to participate in lessons. I personally have not experienced any adaptive technologies in my classrooms, but I can imagine how they can bring about challenges. One major challenge I could see happening is a lack of training of the adult teaching the student how to use the new technology. What did you learn through your individual efforts? I learned about the opportunities and challenges that special needs students face. There are many challenges, like having to train the staff properly in order to help the student use new technology that is going to help them. Some very effective solutions to the challenges they face are National Council for Learning and TechMatrix. Also, an educators role is to make sure that all the students are receiving the same opportunities regardless of their disabilities.     So far, I have enjoyed using twitter. I have a personal account for twitter, so using it for an educational use was a bit different. I definitely see the advantages, because you can easily connect with very educated people and find out lots of new helpful information that you may not have found out if you haven't had a Twitter.  I have learned way more about education than I expected to. The graduation rates and how using technology in the classroom can benefit students really surprised me. I have not yet experienced any issues with Twitter, but I think this is mainly because I was already familiar with the app and had a lot of experience.     I am not very far into my website so far, but I have learned how to use some of the functions on weebly. What did you learn today through your individual efforts? Today I learned more about how great of a tool Microsoft software can be. They provide many different resources to help teachers create their lessons such as PowerPoint. Microsoft software is also available for free to the majority of faculty members so it is a great tool to use! What did you learn today viewing the bookmarks and annotations of others? I learned of many new tools through viewing my classmates bookmarks and annotations. One of the new tools I learned was Dojo. Dojo is a great tool to use for behavior in the classroom. It lets you stay in contact with parents, and monitor a childs' behavior. This I could find to be very helpful in my classroom and I could see myself using Dojo when I am a teacher.

I am clearly able to differentiate title, and actual information links. Repetition -Yes, similar visual elements are repeated throughout the webpage. She has subjects such as "daily schedule, field trip dates, and homework help" with the same font, size, etc. Also, when she presents the newsletters, the links are all similar. Alignment Yes, similar elements are aligned to represent a visual connection. There are two separate columns that makes it easy to differentiate between the tabs and the information. There is a specific margin between the tabs on the side and the information. Proximity Yes, visual elements are grouped together depending on what they are.     I went onto FSUS' website and went to the 2nd grade classes. On the teachers class websites there was all kinds of information. The teacher has unit spelling vocabulary, field trips, their daily schedule, newsletters, and their curriculum. I viewed another teacher's 2nd grade website and she also included homework help as well as additional resource links to help parents at home.  FSUS 2nd Grade       I can envision myself using technology to accomplish my professional responsibilities more effectively and efficiently. Using technology tools to help me plan my lessons could get my work done much more effectively. It will help me keep organized and it will make it easier for me to update my lessons for my future years of teaching. I enjoyed learning more about Diigo. The articles we were all assigned were very interesting. I enjoying the article about using social media in the classroom. I found it very relatable because my sister in law is a fourth grade teacher and she actually made a fake Instagram for inside her classroom. It keeps the kids excited about learning and be able to "post" pictures of what they did up on their Instagram board.

    Some Web 2.0 technologies that the podcast discussed that I find very useful in the classroom are YouTube and blogs. In my experience, teachers constantly use YouTube during their lesson to show a short clip that adds to lesson. I find this very engaging, students may not be as attentive if they are sitting through a long class period of the teacher lecturing the whole time. YouTube can help break apart the lesson and keep students interested. Blogs can also be useful in the classroom so all students have a chance to express their ideas. Some students may not want to speak up during class but have great things to say. A blog is a great tool so all students can comfortably express their thoughts and they can collaborate with each other. Although Twitter has some positives like being able to connect directly with authors, scientists, etc. I don't find Twitter to be the best tool in the classroom. There are better ways to have students do collaborative work such as the blogs....

    I have been enjoying my experience with Twitter. I have been interacting with some of my classmates, and with the FSU education twitter page. It has been beneficial to me because I have been learning more about education. Twitter could be helpful in my future career so I could connect with my colleagues and learn more about teaching. I could also use it for my students to do collaborative homework assignments.     Podcasts could effect students success in school because they are not always the best resource to use when teaching certain subjects. Also, not all students can really pay attention to a podcast for a long period of time. It is easy to get distracted especially if the person speaking in the podcast is boring or not very entertaining to the person listening. Another thing is that not all students can get access to technology so these students grades could fall behind very quickly if they can't get access to a computer every time there is a podcast up. ...

I researched a lesson plan labeled "A Writing Activity- Learning About Penguins." This lesson plan is for a 2nd grade classroom. I enjoyed this lesson plan and felt it had a very detailed plan follow that would be good for students to learn. This lesson plan did not incorporate technology other than the PowerPoint it was being taught off of, but I think it would be a good addition. You could have students bring in printed out pictures, from google, of Penguins. Also, with the help of a parent, they could look up online some questions about penguins that you send them home with and then discuss it the next day since this is a 5 day lesson plan.   http://www.cpalms.org/Public/PreviewResourceLesson/Preview/50725

    I feel most prepared to teach the "Use Digital Media" ELA standards. I feel most prepared to teach this because I have the most experience with this. Throughout school I have done many presentations and projects that incorporate these skills that make me feel confident in teaching them. I think I would have to learn more about the "Text Structure" standard. I don't feel confident in teaching these standards since I have not had much experience with them. I would definitely need to do research about them.     In my classroom, I would apply web enhancements to traditional classrooms. I think it would help engage my classroom and keep everyone focused. I think technology in the classroom is better for older ages so they can understand more how to use it.     I really enjoyed making this newsletter.       As a student, I use Microsoft Word frequently. I use it to write assignments, do projects, take notes, and much more. My teachers use Microsoft Word even more than I do! They use it in many of their lesson plans. They can also make test and quizzes on it, as well as in class/homework worksheets. Microsoft Word benefits us all greatly and helps students learn more effectively in the classroom.      An experience I have with copyright would be when I was reading a copyrighted book and I had to write a paper on it and had to make sure to cite it correctly so it would not be plagiarized. As a teacher, I would use a variety of programs to make activities for my students since many things are copyrighted and can't be used. I feel that having students create some of their own work can help them learn better in a variety of ways.      Although technology can be very useful, it can lead to many problems as well.      I use technology very often and am usually very successful. I've been using technology since I was a child and it is now part of my everyday life. Being a college student I use my computer frequently to complete and upload assignments. Also, I use my phone daily to connect with my friends and coworkers. Technology so far has been very helpful in my daily life.      Being in this class, I hope to learn more about how to operate computers as well as how to use some of the applications available to me. Hopefully by the end of this course, I will be able to quickly and efficiently work my way around technology.  I also hope to be able to have the skills to help others with their technology problems if needed.
