Adaptive technologies can be very useful in the classroom. Smart boards are a great way to engage all students in your lessons, even letting those with disabilities participate very easily. There are many tools the smart board comes with that lets disabled children interact with the board so that way they are not being excluded, which could happen if you were using just a regular white board. Smart boards are also beneficial to gifted students to keep them engaged. Audio books are also very useful because it can help students who struggle with ready still be able to participate in lessons. I personally have not experienced any adaptive technologies in my classrooms, but I can imagine how they can bring about challenges. One major challenge I could see happening is a lack of training of the adult teaching the student how to use the new technology. If there is not proper training then the technology is of no beneficial use to the student.
PowerPoint is a very helpful tool which can be used in Bloom's Taxonomy. Starting on the first level, remember. PowerPoint can be very helpful in remembering key concepts during your lesson such as spelling words, main idea, etc. You can define the terms and it can help the students retain the information by seeing it typed out for them. The next level is understand, PowerPoint is useful for understanding because you can put slides up that have a discussion question on them that'll help start on conversation so you can further describe your ideas. After that you have apply, PowerPoint is useful in this aspect because you can use different tools to help demonstrate the goals of your lesson. Next is analyze, you can put up short test questions on your PowerPoint and have students write them down on their own paper and answer the questions. Then comes evaluate, PowerPoint is useful for this because you can write down all the details of two sides of a discussion and have them see which side they relate with. Lastly is create, PowerPoint is very beneficial for this because you can have your students then design and create their own PowerPoint showing what they have learned from your lesson.
I believe a form of social media is most beneficial for staying up to date with technology changes since you can get information and feedback so quickly. An example of a form a social media to do this would be Twitter.
