Resource Critique Activity

I researched a lesson plan labeled "A Writing Activity- Learning About Penguins." This lesson plan is for a 2nd grade classroom. I enjoyed this lesson plan and felt it had a very detailed plan follow that would be good for students to learn. This lesson plan did not incorporate technology other than the PowerPoint it was being taught off of, but I think it would be a good addition. You could have students bring in printed out pictures, from google, of Penguins. Also, with the help of a parent, they could look up online some questions about penguins that you send them home with and then discuss it the next day since this is a 5 day lesson plan.

    The lesson plan you looked at seemed interesting and I liked your addition to it by including a technology aspect at home so they can get familiar with using google even though they might be young.

    I really liked the lesson you chose. I think for a second grade class, this is a great lesson. I feel it would be fun for them to learn about penguins, while at the same time they are learning important information. I think it would also be a good idea for students to bring out printed pictures of penguins so they can start learning how to use technology at a young age,

    This is a good lesson plan for younger kids and it sounds like it could use some hands-on activities for the kids to get involved in. I plan to visit this lesson plan when i become a teacher in a few years!

Adaptive Technology for Diverse Learners

What did you learn through your individual efforts? I learned about the opportunities and challenges that special needs students face. There are many challenges, like having to train the staff properly in order to help the student use new technology that is going to help them. Some very effective solutions to the challenges they face are National Council for Learning and TechMatrix. Also, an educators role is to make sure that all the students are receiving the same opportunities regardless of their disabilities.
